A Step-by-Step Guide for Kiln Deliveries
To ensure a smooth and successful delivery via FedEx Freight, please follow the steps below carefully.
1. PREPARE FOR DELIVERY

Schedule Your Delivery:
FedEx Freight will contact you to arrange a delivery appointment. Please make sure someone is available at your studio to receive the shipment and break it down to move it inside.
2. INSPECT THE SHIPMENT ON ARRIVAL

Do Not Sign the Bill of Lading Yet:
Before signing anything, inspect the shipment thoroughly. -
Look for External Damage:
Examine the packaging for dents, holes, tears, or signs of mishandling. -
Open and Check the Kiln (If Possible):
Look for cracks, broken components, or other visible damage to the kiln itself.
3. DOCUMENT ANY ISSUES

Take Photos:
Snap multiple, clear photos of any damage (both to the packaging and the kiln). -
Note It on the Delivery Receipt:
If there is visible damage, clearly write a description on the delivery receipt before signing (e.g., “Box dented and kiln chipped on top panel”). -
Keep a Copy:
Retain a signed copy of the delivery receipt with your damage notes.
4. REPORT DAMAGE IMMEDIATELY

5. AFTER DELIVERY
