ACMI Certification - Toxicological evaluation
AP - The (Approved Product) This seal identifies products that are certified non-toxic. It means the product does not contain any materials in quantities that are harmful to human health.
CL - The (Cautionary Labeling) Seal identifies products that are certified to be properly labeled in a program of toxicological evaluation by the medical expert for any known health risk and with information on the safe and proper use of these materials. CL products are not suitable for children 12 and under.
Dinnerware Safe - Defines glaze ability to be used in contact with food
Yes - The fired glaze meets the FDA guidelines for food safety and is suitable for use on dinnerware.
Yes w/ Clear - The fired product meets the FDA guidelines for food safety and is suitable for use on dinnerware if a clear glaze is applied to create a sealed chemically durable finish.
No - The fired product is not safe for use on dinnerware.
Fired Look - Glaze appearance post firing
Opaque - Glaze that produces uniform, solid coverage and cannot be seen through
Translucent - Glaze that can be seen through and may create color variation over surface texture.
Semi-Opaque - Glaze that can be partially seen through and may create color variation over surface texture.
Breaking – Glaze color variation on highly textured areas and/or when applied in varied thickness.
Fired Movement - Glaze movement during firing
Fluid - Glaze that may flow especially on vertical surfaces.
Stable - Glaze with little to no movement.

Cone 06 – Low-fire approximately 1828 ℉
Cone 06-6 – Low-fire to Mid-range approximately 1828 ℉ to 2232 ℉
Cone 6 - Mid-Range approximately 2232 ℉
*While most fired products are initially developed for use at the lowest firing cone, many colors perform well at higher temperatures. Testing is always recommended.

Crackle - Glazes designed to craze and develop a fine crackle surface.
Crystal - Glazes that contain colorful crystals and add variation in color, finish and movement.
Gloss- Glazes have a shiny, reflective finish.
Matte - Glazes with a flat, non-reflective finish.
Specialty - Glazes consist of a variety of products that add a unique layer of visual interest.
Texture - Glazes that develop a dimensional surface.
Satin - Glazes with a low-sheen, velvety finish.
